Weather & What to Wear
San Francisco enjoys a marine climate and mild weather throughout the year. Temperatures seldom rise above 70 degrees F (21 degrees C) or fall below 40 degrees F (5 degrees C). Fog rolls in during the morning and evening of the summer months and usually burns of during the day. Since the City enjoys a number of micro-climates; visitors are most comfortable with a light coat or jacket handy for cool evenings and in the event that the wind comes up. It is wise to dress in layers. Lightweight summer clothes are rarely practical in San Francisco. |
